Momalogues Episode: Teaching Children Pet Safety

I had the pleasure of joining Mary as a guest on The Momalogues for a conversation about teaching children pet safety!

Thank you, Mary, for having me on and making space for this important topic. I’m grateful for the opportunity to share a conversation about helping children build safe, respectful relationships with animals.

As the author of Pet Safety with Lola & Sophie, I love the way stories can open the door to conversations with children. Reading together gives us a chance to pause, ask questions, and explore how we care for the animals in our lives.

A family conversation might begin with questions such as, “Who could we ask before meeting a new pet?” or “What does it mean to give an animal space?” These are opportunities to listen to what children think and keep learning together.
